High Benefit Plan offers optional savings to cater for all charges above the SPL and also used for other costs above consultation and medicine limits. All these costs must be within the member’s savings.

Who can I register as dependants?

Your spouse or any other immediate family members for whom the members is liable for family care and support.
Your children as long as they are under 21, not married not earning more than E100 per month.

What happens if I join during the year?

Your benefits will be pro-rated. For example, should you join the fund in July you will only be entitled to 50% of the allocated benefit value.

When does my membership stop?

You stop being a member if you leave your job or if your employer withdraws from the fund. When you leave, you must give your membership card to your employer who will send it back to the fund .For individuals and government employees, termination may only be allowed at the end of the year with a three month notice of termination. Subject to approval of the scheme.

Do I have to wait before I can claim benefits?

Yes, you can only claim for the second month after you have joined the fund. For individuals and companies with less than ten members, the waiting period is three months .For aged parents the waiting period is three months .The financial year for benefits begins on 1 January each year.

What about pensions and surviving spouses?

Retired members and spouses of deceased members are entitled to the same benefits as other members and pay the same contributions. Retirement age 60 is considered useless retired due to ill-health.

What happens in the event of an emergency?

In the event of an emergency treatment/admission to hospital over a weekend, public holiday or at night you MUST contact the Authorisation Centre on the first working date after the incident. If you are still in hospital on the first working day after your admission to the hospital, your hospital will contact the Authorisation Centre on your behalf.
